There is a new feature in PowerPoint 2010 that allows you to share a presentation with others via broadcast. With “PowerPoint Broadcast” your audience doesn’t even need to be in the same room to attend a specific presentation in the future.
There should be already an audio connection – by telephone conference call you can attend to your audience, and then you invite them via the appropriate command into your presentation. Your audience will see the presentation then on their screen while you retain control. Late comings can also be included, by receiving invitations. Broadcast -> Send Invitations
This feature can be connected to the function with the recording that we’ll introduce in our blog as well. If the audio connection between you and your audience wouldn’t work, you can still introduce your presentation this way.

The newest product of the Office-Series by Microsoft was anticipated by so many of us with great expectations.
For the first time Microsoft set a release date. Supposably in June the new software-package should be out on the market.
For those who can’t be patient and await the release, there is a possibility to download a free beta- test version to find out how functional the new Office is. The beta version exists in two varieties Home and Business for students, small businesses or private user and the edition Professional Plus which is especially created for mid size and large IT-companies.
We already published the prices for the upcoming Office-Suit. According to rumors, parts of the new version should be available for free as Internet software. The usage should be directed to private user and be sponsored by advertisements.

Visual effects claim the attention of the audience on too many occasions of a PowerPoint presentation while the speech of the presenter fades into background noise. The goal however is to present a visually appealing PowerPoint withou the distraction of the audio information.
Isn’t the purpose to display a visual appealing PowerPoint with the ability to underline the speakers wording?
The possibility to present over a beamer projection and simultaneously run the presentation notes on a laptop can help to prevent the just mentioned problem. While you have access to all your notes, the audience can only see the separate presentation slides.
By choosing in your PowerPoint presentation not the “main screen” but the option “Monitor 2 Plug and Play Monitor” you can start your presentation as usually with the possibility to keep working in your notebook while your presentation is running over the beamer.
In your PowerPoint you’ll find the setting “Slide Show” > select “Set up Show”> presentation by a speaker > under “display slide show on” in the dropdown> “Monitor 2 Plug and Play Monitor”
Then change the display of your screen as “extended” not “cloned” Monitor. You are able to do this over the desktop with a right mouse click > Properties > Settings . Or with System control > View > Settings.

Do you need separate slide with charts and diagrams or a complete PowerPoint presentation to preview reports, brochures or manuals? You can save each slide or single diagram as vector-graphic. Afterwards you can easily edit them in professional image editors, like Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand or Corel Draw.
PowerPoint imports different graphic-formats like EPS, WMF and EMF. Slides with graphics however should be vector files in WMF- or EMF-format. With this format you can use each graphic-, layout- and text processing program.
The steps (for PowerPoint 2002-2003):
- Select the menu point file- save under
- Choose under file type, instead of PRESENTATION (*.PPT), the WINDOWS-META FILE (*.WMF) or ADJUSTED WINDOWS-META FILE (*.EMF)
- An information field will appear. Here you can choose to save the current or all slides of the presentation as vector-graphic.
Pro-tip: Mostly you will get better results by using the .EMF-format. Specially, if you use curved graphics or round elements (e.g.: circles). They will be exported better in .EMF.
