Checklist N°4: Ironing Out the Last-Minute Details

The big moment has finally arrived. You’ve followed our checklists and you’re feeling prepared and confident. Now it’s time to take care of the finishing touches and revisit a couple of important details.

  • Arrive early
  • Make sure you have the equipment you need
  • Check that you have enough lighting and that background noise is to a minimum
  • Double-check that there’s enough seating
  • Organize refreshments for your audience, if provided
  • Make sure there is somewhere for you to prepare beforehand
  • Plan a dry run of your presentation
  • If Internet is needed, check the connection and login information
  • Make sure any links in your presentation are working
  • Edit your presentation if you have a set time frame
  • If there is an MC, meet with him/her before the presentation
  • Warm-up your voice
  • Stay hydrated
